SEE IT BY THE SEA
Theater by the Sea has been producing musicals in the southern coastal town of Matunuck since 1933. It offers professional Broadway-caliber performances May through September. Audiences can enhance their theater experience by dining at the casual Bistro by the Sea restaurant and enjoy food and drinks at the popular Late Night Cabaret following performances on Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings. A note for tour planners scheduling dinner at Bistro by the Sea - all patrons have to be paid and out the door before the curtain goes up.
Groups of 20 or more enjoy discounts for most performances, priority seating, reservations taken before the public box office opens each year, free and convenient parking, and a complimentary theater ticket for the group leader for groups of 40 or more. Theater by the Sea also offers a restaurant package for groups for both matinee and evening performances. "I remember as a kid being thrilled to see 'Hair' performed live right here in South County - it's truly a special place," said Myrna George, President of the Wakefield-based South County Tourism Council.
