South County Tourism Council Wins Journalism Award
South County Tourism Council has been recognized by The North American Travel Journalists Association for its editorial excellence. NATJA is the premier professional association of writers, photographers, editors, and tourism professionals dedicated to redefining professional development for the travel industry. The association awarded the South County Style Vacation Planner with its prestigious Award of Merit in the Best Travel Magazine category.
In a letter to Myrna George, president of South County Tourism Council, the association’s president, Helen Hernandez, said that the South County Style Vacation Planner “exemplifies your talent and creativity as well as the depth and breath of your experience in travel journalism.” The South County Style Vacation Planner was selected from nearly 500 entries.
“The Council is delighted to receive this award from such a prestigious journalism association. It is tremendous that our vacation planner has been honored on a national level and that our promotional efforts have been recognized as a necessary tool in promoting South County”, said Myrna George, President of South County Tourism Council.
South County Tourism Council is the tourism marketing group for all of South County in Rhode Island, from East Greenwich to Westerly. South County Style Vacation Planner is among its major marketing tools, celebrating the natural beauty, historical significance, and visitor attractions within the communities of Charlestown, Coventry, East Greenwich, Exeter, Hopkinton, Narragansett, North Kingstown, Richmond, South Kingstown, West Greenwich and Westerly.
The South County Style Vacation Planner is produced annually with a circulation of 100,000 and distributed to prospective visitors locally, domestically and internationally - from our office in Wakefield all the way to Germany.
