13th Annual South County Photo Contest
Wakefield, R.I. – South County Tourism Council is accepting entries for their 13th Annual South County Photo Contest. Open to residents and visitors alike, the only requisite of the contest is that the photos are of the South County Tourism Region – Charlestown, Coventry, East Greenwich, Exeter, Hopkinton, Narragansett, North Kingstown, Richmond, South Kingstown, West Greenwich or Westerly.
Cash prizes totaling $2000 will be awarded to the winners. First place wins $1000, second place $500, third place $250 and five runners-up will receive $50 each. The contest entry deadline is Wednesday, August 13 by 5 P.M. Awards will be presented at 6 P.M. on Friday, August 22, 2014 at the South County Museum with a press conference and reception. This year’s judge is Dr. Steve Wood, Professor of Communications and Film Studies at University of Rhode Island (URI). Dr. Wood is also an award-winning photographer.
