With the arrival of May, the Kentucky Derby happening tomorrow and Cinqo de Mayo on Tuesday, there are several fun foodie happenings to wet your appetite this week in South County.
Race to the Coast Guard House for a Kentucky Derby Party. Don your best hat and your silks, enjoy Derby-themed food and drink and win prizes for best dressed! The festivities start at 5:30PM on Saturday May 2nd.
After the Derby, why not enjoy dinner and a show? For $100 per person, enjoy a cocktail reception with passed hot & cold hors d’oeurves and a full dinner at 300 North. Followed by tickets to see Pure Prairie League at the Courthouse Center for the Arts. Dinner includes: Starter of house greens, choice of entree: citrus glazed baked salmon filet almondine with blood orange sauce served with vegetable rice pilaf & roasted fennel or ½ oven roasted Cornish game hen served with sausage & apple stuffing and black plum gravy, or ragu ala bolognese chopped braised veal, pork & beef stewed with celery, onion, carrot, plum tomato sauce and a hint of cream, tossed with egg pappardelle, and, finally, a dessert of house made cannoli.
