After seven quiet months at the historic Westerly Train Station, the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly is pleased to announce it will be OPEN FOR BUSINESS starting on Wednesday, October 15 th . The doors will be open and Gallery artists invite the community to come see and celebrate the work they have been creating during this unprecedented, yet creatively prolific time. The gallery will have a new weekly schedule and hours - Thursday - Sunday (1-5pm). October’s Reopening Show will showcase the favorite pieces of art of ACGOW juried artists. Gallery visitors will enjoy an abundance of color and movement: scarlet hand-made glass beads, blue green abstract and impressionistic seascapes, bright watercolors and colorful mobiles that dance in the breeze. This vibrant collection by artists from Rhode Island and Connecticut includes a large selection of oils, watercolors, acrylics, multimedia, mobiles, photographs, pottery, handcrafted jewelry, woodwork, fiber arts, glass, sculpture, and more. ACGOW will be following RI COVID guidelines for cleaning, provision of hand sanitizer, mandatory use of facial masks, physical distancing between guests, and overall capacity in-gallery. There will be no Opening Reception because of safety precautions. This is a challenging time and not everyone is comfortable coming to the Gallery. ACGOW will continue to concurrently exhibit its monthly Virtual Show online at www.westerlyarts.com. The Virtual October All Members Show: “As We See It” will be on display September 30 th through November 1 st .
