The Chorus at 60: Beethoven, Brahms, Handel

  • Conductors: Andrew Howell, George Kent The Chorus of Westerly presents its spring concert in celebration of its 60 seasons. Featuring two movements of Beethoven's 9th Symphony, highlights from Handel's Dettingen Te Deum (the first work the Chorus ever performed), and Nänie of Johannes Brahms. Conducting the program with full chorus and symphony orchestra will be Andrew Howell, the Marion and Bill Palm Music Director of the Chorus, and, for the Handel, Chorus of Westerly founder and music director, emeritus, George Kent. Soloists: Tracy Cox, soprano, Heather Johnson, mezzo soprano, Daniel Weeks, tenor, and Ron Loyd, bass. One performance only: Saturday, May 18, 2019, 6 pm.
