Visiting Artist Exhibit/ Artists' Cooperative Gallery of Westerly

  • Art show featuring the work of visiting artist Gert Rohdin. The late Gert Rohdin was a talented and inspirational artist who touched the lives of the many people he encountered all over the world. It seems very appropriate that even after his passing in July of 2019, at the age of 99, his remarkable art will be gracing the walls of the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery of Westerly as the February Visiting Artist. Gert Rohdin was a long-time, valued Artist Member of the Gallery, and a uniquely talented and original artist, who painted every day from his retirement at 71 until his death at nearly 100. Rohdin’s paintings are offered for sale by the Rohdin family in a month-long exhibit at the Westerly Train Station. The Opening Reception will be Friday, February 7th, from 5pm to 8pm. This is a wonderful opportunity to view and purchase an original painting by Rohdin - a portion of the sales amount will go to the Gallery. This exhibit includes paintings from the Rohdin family collection and is co-sponsored by the family and the Artists’ Cooperative Gallery. February’s show will also include the talents of all of the Artist Members of the Gallery - photographers, painters employing various media, sculptors, glass artists, woodworkers, weavers, fabric artists, jewelry makers and more. Browse the show, meet the artists and enjoy a glass of wine and tasty refreshments. Gallery Hours are Wednesday - Saturday 11:00 - 7:00 and Sunday 1:00 - 5:00. ACGOW, is a fine arts gallery exhibiting a new show every month with work from member and visiting artists. ACGOW shows are free and open to the public.
