Westerly Memorial Day Parade

9:30 am - 12 pm. The Westerly Pawcatuck Veteran's Board will hold it's annual celebration of Memorial Day with a parade starting in Pawcatuck,Ct and ending in Wilcox Park in Westerly,RI. This parade is one of the oldest parade celebrations in the country. It was started after the Civil War when Gen. Logan decreed the day to be set aside to remember our fallen soldiers. Start at Pawcatuck Shopping Center, marches down West Broad St.. Stop on the bridge to honor our departed heroes. Enters Westerly, turns onto High St and enters Wilcox Park at High St. entrance for ceremonies at the bandstand
