It was a perfect day inside and out. The sun shone brightly on the 5th Annual South County Bridal Show, showing off the best of South County.

Inside the Towers, the tables were set, the flowers in bloom, champagne poured, cupcakes frosted, cameras ready, and model brides and their escorts strolling the aisle in wedding finery.

On Jan. 8, South County’s finest wedding vendors took center stage at the only event dedicated exclusively to South County wedding vendors and venues. More than 220 brides, grooms and bridal party members sipped, sampled, and chatted in the sun-drenched great hall of the Towers.

This event provides the best combined resources and information to aid brides and their families in making the most important decisions for their memorable moment – a South County wedding.

Vendors describe the show as “intimate” and enjoy the opportunity to meet with brides in a relaxed setting. The show gives the vendors a chance to network with each other and promote South County’s gorgeous features from the woodlands to the beaches.

“South County is the jewel in the crown for an affordable destination wedding,” said Myrna George, president of South County Tourism Council (SCTC).

Southern New England Weddings featured a destination “South County” wedding on the cover of its 2012 Destination Wedding magazine. A 14-page interior spread was dedicated to “South County, Rhode Island, A Pure Blend of Coastline and Countryside!”

A lucky few brides won prizes ranging from free appetizers to a wedding dress. Vendors include: A Airline Express Limousine, Alterations Unlimited, Blueberry Cove Inn, Coast Guard House, Elegant Events by Tara, Flowerthyme, Melissa Ashley Brides, Music Mixers, Nana’s Gelato, PattiCakes, Scribe, Smashing Photo Booth Rentals, Spa Mosaic, Susan Sancomb Photography, The Towers, Village Inn Events, Weedweavers and West Bay Gourmet.
