No matter the occasion, a nice dinner can be a gift unto itself. Several criteria make for a splurge-worthy restaurant: excellent cuisine, ambiance and, perhaps most importantly, top-notch service. In honor of Valentine’s Day, here are some fine-dining establishments where you’ll savor every bite and, quite simply, feel spoiled.
Seasons
1 Bluff Ave., Watch Hill
A bonus to living in Rhode Island is the ease of visiting wonderful
seaside resorts outside of summer. Seasons, in the magnificently
restored Ocean House, features two dining areas: an enclosed porch with
water views and a cozy area with a fireplace. Specializing in
farm-to-table fare, with a food forager on staff, the restaurant lists
its local friends and farmers on the chef’s tasting menu.
Spain Restaurant
1144 Ocean Road, Narragansett
With a pitcher of sangria and an order of paella Valenciana packed with
shrimp, scallops, clams, mussels, chorizo, chicken, calamari and saffron
rice, you’ll feel like you’re a world away. The waiters are attentive,
and the open dining room is reminiscent of a Spanish courtyard. Be
forewarned: Your waiter will bring the dessert tray to your table, and
it will be difficult to resist offerings like the chocolate truffle
mousse torte.
