Rhythm and Roots, New England's Premier Festival of Roots Music & Dance is this weekend at Ninigret Park. Celebrating their 22nd year live music runs Friday-Sunday from 1:00pm-11:00pm.  There is something for everyone with four stages- family stage, dance stage, rhythm stage, and roots stage. Great food, activities for children and the opportunity to camp in beautiful South County for the weekend.

Saturday Night Fever at Theatre By the Sea  Enjoy the stage version of Saturday Night Fever , the extraordinarily successful 1977 movie starring John Travolta. Packed with disco classics including the Bee Gees' hits “Stayin’ Alive", "How Deep Is Your Love", "Night Fever""Tragedy" and "More Than A Woman", the musical is filled with explosive energy and sensational choreography.

Johnny & The East Coast Rockers at the Andrea in Westerly

Music on at the beach with Johnny & The East Coast Rockers playing outside on the patio at The Andrea on Misquamicut Beach from 1:00 - 5 PM. Sing, dance, enjoy this premiere Rhythm and Blues dance band as  Johnny MacLeod and his band perform original tunes and favorite covers from the 40's, 50's, and 60's in an eclectic mix, that combines elements of traditional blues, swing, jazz, R&B, and roots rock.

Movies in the Park-Peter Pan. Saturday night, presented by The United Theatre and Wilcox Park. The movie begins at sundown (roughly 8:15pm). The Coy Cafe will be on-hand with concessions. Bring some chairs or a blanket, and a picnic dinner and enjoy The United Theatre’s free outdoor pop-up cinematic experience; Movies in the Park!

Family Fun at Adventureland in Narragansett

Enjoy the last weekend of the summer at Adventure Land in Narragansett. The kids will love the Go Karts, Bumper Boats, Mini Golf, Batting Cages, Carousel Pavilion,  and the Extreme Big Air Jumper.

See the movie ET at the Misquamicut Drive-In Theatre.  Gates open at 6:30 PM. Movie time is 9 pm $15 per carload. Concession stand on site with popcorn and hot dogs and candy.

See the Whales in Narragansett via Frances Fleet

This is the last weekend of the year for a Whale Watching tour with Frances Fleet. Friday or Saturday set sail to see one of the most majestic creatures on earth.  Whale watch tours depart at 1:00 pm out of the Port of Galilee.  Keep your eyes peeled for humpbacks, finbacks and minke whales. Also, dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, sunfish and many different species of bird life.
