Dreaming of a rustic farm wedding? South County, RI, while known for our gorgeous beaches and beach weddings, is also home to some beautiful farms that will make your rustic farm wedding dreams come true. Lavender Waves Farm in South Kingstown is the latest addition to South County's list of wedding venues.
This former hog farm has been transformed over the past three years into a stunning rustic luxury retreat. The farm can be rented out for weddings and other events (family reunions, birthday parties, showers, photo shoots, group meetings and more). There's a beautiful gazebo surrounded by rays of lavender radiating out in a circular pattern. Lavender blooms in the summer so the farm is ideal for summer weddings, but also beautiful in the fall. Lavender Waves farm will accommodate weddings up to 150 people. The cost to rent the farm ranges from $3000-$5000 depending on the size and complexity of your wedding. There are also ceremony-only rates for the gazebo starting at $250 and increase based on season, size of party etc. Ceremony only rentals include use of beautiful lanterns. More info can be found here.
More than 75 birds live on the 14 acre farm, including guinea fowl, Welsh Harlequin ducks, Gold-laced Brahma chickens and an all white peacock named Prince Harry. There are also other animals on site such as babydoll sheep, alpacas, Dalai the llama and Diego the donkey. If you're renting the farm for an event or staying onsite in the farm suite, the animals are accessible.
The farm suite is the ultimate in rustic luxury and is one of the most unique places to stay while visiting South County. It's available at a 15% discount for a whole week to anyone renting the farm for a wedding reception and would make the ultimate wedding night suite. The private, second floor suite features reclaimed wood from the walls – which came from an old barn in PA - to the floorboards, to the furniture, including the four-poster bed. Traces of the color lavender are present in everything from the granite counter tops to the geode sinks. Everything was carefully selected by owner Henry Cabrera and he spared no expense so that his guests will experience ultimate comfort. There’s a full-size gourmet kitchen and you can book a private chef, Lauren Dyer, to cook you a four-course, lavender-themed dinner. The bathroom incorporates imported granite and custom amethyst geode sinks from Estonia. The shower features rainfall, waterfall and massage jets. There is even a laundry room complete with a washer and dryer and an array of lavender products for your use. From the living room and bedroom windows are sweeping views of the lavender farm and gazebo.
The suite can comfortably accommodate up to four people (two in the bedroom and two on the leather futon in the living room). You can book the suite on AirBnB, the link is on the website: www.lavenderwavesfarm.com and rates start at $150+/night depending on the season. The private, lavender-themed dinner by Executive Chef, Lauren Dyer starts at an additional $125/per person. Guests can also request an in-suite masseuse at an additional charge.
