For many people hurling themselves into the ocean in January is a hard no.  And yet, many of those people can be convinced to “suffer” for a few minutes to benefit the non-profits, and people, that host organizations represent.  And of those, after the initial shock the exhilaration and sense of accomplishment makes their Plunge a great beginning to the New Year.  Comradery, encouragement and sense of purpose combine for an exhilarating day.

Consider that winter swimming is commonplace in many countries. Benefits of winter swimming include boosting the immune system, improving circulation, and enhancing mental wellbeing through an endorphin release, and providing a sense of accomplishment

Try something new this year and join the 1,000+ people in South County for a New Year’s Day you’ll never forget.
