Scavenger Hunt

South County Tourism Council is looking for 5 artists or artist teams to create 5 art installations at 5 South County locations this April. 

Artists will create an all-natural temporary art installation to foster the Arts and Tourism in South County, Rhode Island. The artists will create the installations on April 8, 2022 and beach seeking Rhode Island residents will search out these beautiful sculptures through the help of SCTC social media on April 9, 2022 and April 10, 2022. The Sculpture will be approximately 10’ x10’, located on a South County beach near you. There are 5 artist spots available, the applications will be reviewed by a panel working with the South County Tourism Council. 

Dates:  April 8^th for installation, scavenger hunt on April 9^th and 10^th. Rain date TBA.

Size:  10’ x10’, low relief sculpture 

Installation Locations: a South County beach near you  

Materials:  sea shells provided, all other natural materials gathered by artist 

Compensation:  $1000 per installation 

Design theme: The theme of your design should be connected to South County’s natural coastal beauty through image or materials, The theme should be family friendly, abstract or objective, radial, symmetrical or asymmetrical. 

Requirements: Artists should be 18+ 

Deadline: Apply no later Friday, March 25th.
